No financial software package is perfect (not even MYOB!!) However, there are a lot of reasons why Beenz & Bytes recommends businesses use MYOB (Mind Your Own Business) for their financial software. Some of these reasons are listed below:
- MYOB software is specifically designed for small to medium sized businesses. There are a range of options starting from the basics: one user, to a full suite of integrated modules: multi-user.

Normally we are a great believer in individuality, but when it comes to financial software you want to be sure that you are using software produced by a company that is going to last. - The import and export functionality within MYOB is superb. You can import and export most of all the data held within MYOB to/from excel for example, and you don’t have to be a programmer to use this functionality!!!
- Although we recommend that you use a MYOB certified consultant to customize your forms, if you want minor changes made in the future, it is possible for you to make these changes yourself without needing to be a programmer. Just ask your consultant to show you how changes can be made.
- MYOB integrates with your email system with ease. So for example, you can email directly:
- purchase orders or supplier remittance advices to your suppliers
- invoices or statements to your customers.
- There are regular upgrades available. This means that MYOB is continually improving. For most modules it is optional whether you choose to upgrade or not (MYOB will still continue to support old versions from 2004 for up to 6 years). Obviously, if you want to have the latest functionality, an upgrade is recommended. MYOB Payroll is one module which you should always upgrade if there have been legislation changes to ensure you are keeping up to date with the latest laws, but this would be true with any Payroll software.
- MYOB has a fantastic support system in place, so if you do have a problem, there are a number of people to assist you (the knowledge of the software is not limited to just one or two people).
- If you choose an Accountant who has MYOB Accountants Office software, then your Accounting fees will be kept at a minimum due to this integrated software, which minimizes the amount of time Accountants need to spend on completing your Company’s accounts.
